Merino Wool, Silk, Viscose blend shawl

I learned how to crochet and knit when I was a little girl (7-8 years old) from my Mother. She was so good at everything.

Growing up then in Lithuania during the Soviet times, there was not a big choice of clothing in stores. Actually, very little on display....But I could always create and make a new sweater or a scarf to look nice and everyone would ask me, "Where did I buy it"?

Later, when Lithuania became an independent country everything changed: shopping malls were full of different brands and there was no need to make my own clothes any more.

A few years ago I had shoulder surgery, which was not very successful: a nerve was damaged during the surgery and my right hand fingers became very weak. A doctor suggested to me to do something with my fingers & my hands to slow down the damaged nerve process that included weakening my hand muscles. Then I remembered that I can knit and crochet!!!

I am not sure how much it helps my hand but I really know that the hobby from my younger years is back and I enjoy knitting very much.  It became my passion. I enjoy putting together different yarns of different colors and creating my own yarn for a shawl or a scarf. How much satisfaction and joy I get when the finished product turns into a beautiful piece!

I use only high quality, most often mixed yarns and I make scarves and shawls for women (and men) of all ages.
