An historical account of Colcha embroidery and an ultimately uplifting story about a craft destined for extinction, saved mostly by a small group of determined women motivated to save their beloved tradition.

Colcha embroidery greeting card kits, each consisting of various churro yarns needed to complete the project, needle, patterned sabanilla, and a card to assemble into an all occasion greeting card -  the perfect introductory gift to Colcha Embroidery

Sabanilla ground fabric in various sizes, pre-cut and ready for colcha embroidery

70-yard Churro yarn skeins perfect for colcha, dyed using natural dyes (at the time of the exhibit both single-ply and 2-ply were available, but the store was transitioning to single ply skeins only, in a wide range of naturally-dyed colors)

Other artisanal yarns you might consider for colcha work

Locally sourced New Mexico natural dye kits, including dyestuff, instructions, and 1 oz ready-to-dye wool yarn
