My heritage includes weavers, quilters, knitters, hand sewers and spinners. The Weavers and Hand Sewers were all professional and come in an unbroken line from at least 1753, when Tom and Mary Heilman settled in western Pennsylvania from their former home in Alsace Lorrain.
Even as a girl, I learned to knit a sew from my mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In 1998, I learned to weave, then opened a knit and weaving shop in Edgewood, New Mexico which I operated for seven years, until 2008.
I had 5 years of weaving blankets for Ralph Lauren, for their high-end home stores. My passion in weaving is home soft furnishing. I do table runners, mats, napkins, kitchen towels and throw blankets and pillows. I sell online and at shows around the state and in the US.
