My professional involvement in the arts began as a Music Therapist, using music as a form of mental health treatment for people of all ages. As I looked for my own expressive outlet, I turned to quilting and other fiber arts, including silk painting and nuno felting. I became captivated by eco-printing as I experimented with ways to include natural leaf prints and images in my felting. Currently, I explore eco-printing and natural dyeing on a variety of surfaces including paper, silk and wool, and upcycled garments. I also hand sew garments (as pictured here), purses and other accessories. I have received informal training in these techniques from artists across the country, but am primarily self-taught. Prior to moving to Santa Fe, I was a member and ongoing juried exhibitor of the Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery in the Alexandria, VA Torpedo Factory Art Center.
